Review on πŸ’‘ Efficient and Dimmable Equivalent Halogen Bi Pin Bulb - 20W to 25W by David Garnic

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal! Too bad I haven't switched to these for a long time...

I have a bookshelf in my office that I love and when one of the halogen lights in the cabinet dishwasher blew out I naturally wanted it To deceive. While browsing through G8 lightbulbs I saw these mini LEDs and decided to buy them instead. I only wish I had done it sooner. Halogen bulbs get very hot, and I burned myself once cleaning the glass in one of the washing machines built into the closet. Using LEDs is a much better and safer alternative and I've never hesitated to leave the light on for much longer than before. The LED gets warm, but that's all. Warm. Don't burn your fingers! And I don't have to worry about the contents of the bookshelves either. The light pucks in the case are dimmed up to 3 levels by touching the side hinge and these mini G8 LEDs work great. We have 2700K lighting at home, we prefer yellow warm light so I bought the 3000K version instead of the 6000K version and they give a nice bright warm light. The "dimming" is dimmer than the old halogen bulbs (yes I've compared all three settings), but for me the dimming level shouldn't matter much if someone has dim light. I prefer a medium setting, but I photographed it on my bookshelf in the brightest light. I noted a previous comment about the thickness of the tubes and was a little worried I'd have to shave the plastic off a bit as the light washers were very fine, but they weren't. So far I'm very happy with them and yes I recommend them.
