I don't understand how this mount got such good reviews as it doesn't do the job. The mount is designed for installing a TV in a van. Unfortunately, the mount itself weighs about 15 pounds+. Installing this on thin RV walls will flex the wall outward even if you hit the stud as long as the sides of the RV boards are not damaged. Even worse with a TV on it. It's well built and very reliable, but definitely not your average motorhome. I might find it useful in a tiny house or something with a better lug design than an RV. I ended up using a much smaller, lighter, and much cheaper mount I had at home.
