A Story Worth Your Time

Courage to Change When life doesn't turn out as you planned, you need to have the courage to change. Mia and Sean, the main characters of this story, both struggle with the fact that their lives differ so much from their childhood plans. But when they meet, they slowly build up the courage to make some needed changes. Can they muster up the courage to fall in love? When opposites attract Miya is a famous actress who was ten years old. However, she misses life in a small town. Between films, she decides to vacation at a bed and breakfast in the small town of North Salem, Massachusetts. When she meets Sean, the co-owner of the bed and breakfast, she is immediately drawn to him and the way he treats her like a normal person. That's exactly what she needs in life. For as long as he can remember, Sean has wanted to expand his life by growing up in a small town in North Salem. However, he sacrificed much for the family that needed him as the head of the family. However, when Mia enters his B&B, he quickly realizes that she is not the typical high-class celebrity who stays at his newly established home. She is a breath of fresh air with her advice and call to open up your life to new things. Reviewer's Thoughts I have to admit, I love small town romance. It shows you that love can find you anywhere. This story was very cute and quick to read, perfect for summer vacation. Mia and Sean are complete opposites, but it's clear why they work. They balance each other in ways they never thought possible. A lot of people talked about Sean being an underdeveloped character. However, I think they lack perspective. Sean isn't exactly a boring character if you've ever been in his place. If you can put yourself in his shoes and see what it's like to feel cut off from a potentially great life because of other life commitments, you really see his arc. I've really gotten used to his character and I think if you look at him from that point of view - which is also Mia's point of view - you can see that too. All of these characters are well developed and really bring the setting and story to life. One note I would like to make is that there were many typos in this book. I liked this story, but it really spoils the impression when you start identifying typo after typo. This book needed a lot of cosmetic editing, which I felt wasn't there. Mistakes were rare in the beginning, but by the time I got to the last 25% of the book, I ran into them in what seemed like every other paragraph. Learn from all characters. I love that there were so many subplots that kept the story going and I hope to see that pattern in Christina's other books as we progress in this series. I give the book 4 stars out of 5 due to the typos. I would recommend this book to anyone aged 16+ who loves cute modern novels.
