Review on Cayer FP34 Camera Monopod - 71 inch Lightweight Aluminum Telescopic Monopod with Pan Tilt Fluid Head and Tripod Base for DSLR Cameras by Catherine Schwarzer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great budget monopod

I hope people read this review but I have an important note. Revain seems to be the place to go for your budget tripods and monopods. At around $100 there are a TON of options. However, at this price point, there are a lot of terrible ones out there. However, when I need a cheap mono/tripod, I always turn to Cayer. This is because they produce the highest quality accessories in their price range. This is an important factor to consider. Is this the best monopod? no Is this the best monopod in this price range? Compared to many others I have used I can say yes this is one of the best at this price point. The lower legs are strong and stable. Long enough to ensure good balance when standing upright. The video head pans and tilts very smoothly. The flip locks keep the monopod perfectly in place even when I squeeze it with maximum force. If you have a gimbal like DJI's latest, this would be a fantastic addition. Place the gimbal on the end of the monopod (after removing the video head) and you'll get a unique jib-like footage. For this type of use you really need an aluminum monopod and not a carbon fiber monopod as carbon fiber can easily break with such a horizontal flex. Great monopod at a great price.
