I've taken advice from other reviewers to go up the size. My little girl will be 3 next week and is quite small. I bought her a small size 4-6 and it fits well (I wouldn't say it's too loose, but it's also not too tight for her to wear for a while). The skirt hits her knees, so it's long for a ballet skirt, but that means she can wear it for a few years as long as her waist doesn't get very big. Most importantly, my little girl loves the skirt. She likes being a ballerina and a princess!
