Great headphones!: In-ear headphones

What a breath of fresh air. Get ready to refine your taste buds. If you're like me, you've enjoyed the influx of great-sounding headphones introduced by the Chi-Fi segment of late. Phones like the ZRX Terminator, TRN V90 and Blon BL03 offer headphone lovers audio quality unparalleled in years past. I have more than I care to admit and I love them all. I also enjoy listening to headphones like the Sennheiser MX400, Yuin PK3 and Ve Original and Plus for decades and appreciate the experience they offer compared to IEM. Well, Smabot M1 takes that experience to a whole new level. Unlike the IEMs mentioned, the M1 forgoes the V-shaped frequency response so popular with IEMs, opting instead for a flat frequency response. As a result, you will need to recalibrate your hearing. I understand why the V shape is so popular, as it enhances the music and embellishes it with the excitement that poorly recorded material often lacks. The M1s don't do this and so don't tolerate poorly mastered music that honestly represents the recording as it really is, without embellishment. The result is a very clear listening experience, a music microscope so to speak, that rewards well-recorded music with a deeply penetrating look into its soul. The impressions are very detailed, clean, clear, crisp, accurate images, very precise, refined, natural, open and at the same time tireless. Get a good fit and they go very deep in the bass and high in the treble without the slightest haze in the middle where most of the music is. As a result, you can hear things in the recordings that are usually overlooked with smaller hearing aids. Even the bass is fast and precise, making it possible to differentiate between bass guitar, floor tom and kick drum, nuance tonal drops and avoid monophonic bass. It will take time to get used to the experience and finding a fit with headphones can be difficult at times for some, but once you get there the rewards are great. I have large ear canals and they are smaller in diameter than Monk or PK eartips so I have a full foam with two donuts on it and get a great very comfortable fit. I can leave them on all day and have situational awareness to hear my surroundings and friends while still enjoying great listening quality. Nice article and highly recommended!
