Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent 2 in 1, with some small flaws

This is a great laptop with good battery life (not always exactly 10 hours, it really depends on the load). I was expecting the tablet mode to be just a gimmick, but it's actually pretty useful. The laptop (I have the 13.3" version with I7 processor, 8GB RAM and SSD) is used as the main device for office applications, planning, surfing the Internet, developing photos (see below), etc. No games The good things: It starts up quickly, loads quickly and is generally very responsive It's light for a laptop - not a surface light but still very useful, portable and tablet modes work very well Now for the cons - although it looks like a lot it's actually not that bad, just deducting 1 star 1) The aluminum case looks crisp but there will inevitably be a dent I dropped my phone from my bedside table onto my laptop on the floor The plastic wasn't wrinkled, most likely not even scratched 2) It gets very hot Air vents 3) The screen is very glossy and reflective a bit annoying in bright light 4) The battery life, while decent, is actually within reach average use at about 6 hours. I'm sure you can squeeze out the advertised number of hours if you put it on sleep mode and only do very light tasks. 5) In tablet mode (keyboard folded backwards), the keys on the back are exposed. Laptop, more of a weird feeling than a real problem. 6) Colors are decent but don't really match my main calibrated monitor. I use it for photo editing but I think the color accuracy is better on a larger monitor than a reflective monitor. 7) In tablet mode, typing on the virtual keyboard is a bit slower and sometimes I press the wrong keys. Definitely not as responsive and fluid as the iPad's virtual keyboard. However, this is likely a W10 issue and not specific to this laptop.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • So-so
