Review on ๐Ÿ‘œ 4-Pack Reusable Silicone Food Bag Storage: Eco-Friendly, Food-Grade Storage Solution by Theresa Brown

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great alternative to disposable ziplock bags and more expensive silicone bags BUT

I bought these after reading an article written by someone who has reviewed many brands of silicone bags. In a way, she liked these bags more than the expensive Stasher bags, and they're definitely worth the money. I didn't have much trouble sealing the bags with the plastic slider (their tip helps wet the top of the bag), but I'm only giving it four stars for a few reasons. First, they don't appear to be airtight. I have a feeling none of the silicone bags are truly airtight, and frankly none of the ziplock bags either, unless you're lucky enough to find Ziplocs with a pump. (I don't think they make them anymore). You can suck the air out of the ziplock bag with a straw or submerge most of the bag in water to squeeze the air out. They are a bit difficult to deflate as they open and close. This is important to me because I freeze a lot of meat. The second reason is that I find that they retain their scent even after multiple washes. So after washing I wouldn't use the bag for completely different purposes. IOW if I use a freezer bag for meat I don't put fruit in it after I wash it! I haven't frozen or heated anything wet or "fresh" in these bags, so I don't know how they deal with stains. my recipes. And there is an air problem. All in all these are good bags. Better for the planet than zip bags and a lot cheaper than some alternatives. I also like that they stand up, which others don't. I would buy them again and hope they come out in larger sizes.
