When I first got these blocks for my 6 month old I was concerned about the corners and wish they were more rounded. But she's been playing with it for a few months now and hasn't poked her eyes yet, so I think the corners are fine. :-) I think these cubes are cool because she can do different things with them at different ages. Now she likes to topple over the towers I build with blocks and now that she's teething she really likes to chew on the raised parts of the blocks. I love that as she gets older she can play by piecing them together and finding blocks with matching grooves and ledges. It's also great that some of the blocks have math symbols (=, +, -) so we can even use it for basic mapping if it's old enough. The only downside is that the blocks have an air hole. So when you wash them you have to cover them to keep water out.
