They worked pretty well for the short time we were able to use them. However, after an hour and a half of driving, the rear axle of my trailer broke and we found ourselves in an area with no cell service, with three horses we couldn't leave behind. Thanks to a North Cascades National Park police officer, we found someone who drove his trailer 75 miles with horses to where they got stuck so we could transfer the horses onto his trailer and arrange for the trailer to be towed. A police officer who spent two to three hours of his time making multiple trips to an area with cell phone coverage to arrange towing and find someone to transport the horses.
