This is a really nice "mini hydration bladder". Its design is typical of Camelbak. Bladder material seems thick enough and well welded to prevent leaks. When the check valve is in the closed position, the silicone bite valve will not leak. I keep it in a small bag and use it as a cooling pad between my back and a chair when sitting outside in the 90 degree heat. Of course I also drink water from it. Holds enough water so I don't feel dehydrated while walking. I haven't strictly measured its volume, but I'm pretty sure it only holds about 10 ounces. water, not the advertised 12 oz. I'm not deducting a star for that as Camelbak's build quality, choice of materials, design and lifetime warranty make this a very worthwhile purchase for me and my needs. There are a few more things that I feel are necessary to mention. The inside of the flask is coated with an antimicrobial treatment (something like silver impregnation). I just let my bottle air dry and had no issues with dirt or weird taste. The silicone bite valve can be removed for more thorough cleaning or to connect a hydration tube. And finally, the top of the bottle has a semi-rigid collar that you can rely on while screwing on the cap. I've read reviews about the cool version of this bottle stating that the cool version doesn't have that collar which makes it very difficult to unscrew the cap. The only difference between this and the QuickStow cooler is that there is a thin layer of closed cell foam between the inner and outer layers of the cooler. The liquid should take twice as long to cool as this flask. Not enough to convince you to buy it instead. Overall, I'm glad I bought the Camelbak QuickStow water bottle. The thing is, I bought two!
