I bought a long baby sleep dress size 5T. My granddaughter is 5T and can carry some of the little girls. Size 6. It's a bit big for her so she can definitely wear it this school year and next year. The material is soft like spandex but not thick. She wears it with leggings, but it's long enough that she only needs shorts or a jumpsuit. She loves it! You may need to wear a sweater if the temperature is 20-30F.
