I really wanted this pillow, but.

Since there were so many rave reviews for this pillow I bought it. I slept on this pillow for 2 weeks before deciding to write this review. There was a slight smell of exhaust fumes coming from the box, it didn't seem too strong until I slept on it the first night and that was it. I smelled and couldn't sleep. Also, this pillow feels weird and takes time to get used to. I put the pillow outside the next morning to air it out for a few hours. The second night the smell was less but I'm still very sensitive to smells and smells so it still bothered me. On the 4th day, the release of gases was hardly perceptible. The pillow is not as soft as my other "regular" memory foam pillow. Place your head in the notch if you sleep on your back or side. It feels different, but that dent really cradles your head and your neck feels good the next morning. However, if you don't center your head perfectly in the pillow, you might feel the pillow dig into your neck at the base, which isn't comfortable at all. I often have to adjust my head when sleeping on my back. Also, my hair is a few inches below my shoulders and I had to pull it up and to the side or I would be pushing my hair into a hollow and by morning I had lost a few strands of hair due to the pressure on my hair. .I also felt very hot and sweaty on my neck and I have never had a pillow to feel hot. I have read reviews on this and other pillows that indicated whether the pillow was cool or hot and I didn't think this would be a problem for me as I have never moved from a pillow in over 60 years this hot. . I now go back to my other regular pillow for sleeping. But if I ever feel a tightness in my neck I will use this pillow as I think it works well enough for neck pain but I don't like it enough to sleep on it every night.
