Wash and dry once. The fabric is very soft so that's ok I guess, but sheets don't usually look like t-shirt fabric and that's what they're mostly made of. They aren't crispy and don't hold their shape at all. So if your pillow is a bit lumpy, this pillowcase will allow all of it to show through. I have two baby/travel pillows, one is about twice as thick as the other. These pillowcases are very tight on both. It sticks out a bit at the end if I don't put an inner envelope on it. which works but isn't pretty to look at. I will not return them. I'll use them a bit before I find something better and put them in the rag box.
