Perfect fit for the Inspiron 3162. The problem is that these cases are TRANSPARENT and have a very slight color cast. They are not a solid/opaque color. Therefore, the final color depends on the main color of your notebook. In fact, they're so brightly colored that I'm not sure they'll make an impact on anything other than a white laptop. In my case, we had a dark blue Dell 3162 Inspiron laptop. My daughter wanted it light blue so we ordered a light blue hardcover. We were disappointed that upon arrival it was *very* transparent. Once we attach the cover to the notebook, it is no different from the navy blue at all. This could be a great product if it was opaque (solid). However, as it is translucent it should only be used on a white or light gray legal pad if you wish to control the final colour. Otherwise, you'll be mixing colors between your notebook and the light shade of the cover, and the end result will remain a mystery until you check it out for yourself - it might make no difference at all to your notebook's base color. the manufacturer has made them myopic translucent as they only fit WHITE laptops. PRO TIP: Dell makes laptops in other colors. There is no option in your product to personalize these notebooks.
