Great kit but the light is dimmer than the original GM

This is a great kit for the money and the motors seem to work very well. Unfortunately, the lights aren't as bright as standard GM bulbs. I have a low mileage 2006 GMC Duramax and to be honest I needed 7 motors and 12 bulbs so 2 bulbs plus a stepper motor wasn't replaced. The brightness of 2 factory bulbs is noticeable. Should I take them all out now to replace them with brighter bulbs, not really, but bear that in mind when purchasing. Too bad they didn't make this kit for diesel trucks! It's also very easy to ensure your gauge needles land in the correct position after changing motors. Take a picture of the needle position before removing the device. Especially the speed, speedometer and gas sensor. The rest should match the first line. Place painter's tape under the needles and gently turn them counterclockwise to the inside stop of the motor and tape the tape to mark the location. After replacing the motors and bulbs (desoldering wicks are best), mount the board with only the back cover and snap the sensor faceplate into place. Slightly press each needle and turn the motor fully counterclockwise. Carefully remove the needle and align it with the mark you made on the masking tape and partially push the needle through. Repeat this process for each motor to "close" the needles. CAREFULLY install the device in a car without a transparent cover, being careful not to hit or damage the needles. actually quite easy! Turn the ignition on and off and start the car for a moment. Check if your headlights work! After switching off, check the needle position for the correct "fine adjustment". If they are not quite correct, simply remove them in the car. provided you didn't push them too far and moved them carefully. How to get accurate measuring arrows! Turn on the ignition each time. Once they are correct, use your thumb to gently slide them into place, being careful not to twist them or you may end up in the wrong position. Start the car and check the position again using the photos you took. Once everything is correct, simply snap the clear lid back on and rotate the cluster! Ready!
