Sandisk secures a really good external hard drive

Every time I think I've found an external hard drive solution, I'm always very disappointed. It usually starts with a device failure, after which the IT specialist tells me that I have no doubts about recovering the data. I was particularly disappointed when I paid extra for a more durable product (some drives are MIL-SPEC compliant for drop, shock, and vibration resistance) and they still fail. I've tried different brands and it doesn't matter. And most guarantees don't extend very far into the future. The worst is when you ask for your data back. Data recovery is never guaranteed and often costs double what you originally paid for the device, and again there are no guarantees. Then I bought a SanDisk Extreme SSD device. Fast data transmission, reliable, easy to protect. And I like the form factor. Unfortunately, the USB 3 port on my device broke after eleven months. Suddenly the hard drive was not visible to my computer. Here we go again, right? So why did I give the device 5 stars? Because for the first time in my experience of buying an external hard drive, I found a company that truly stands behind their products. The support from SanDisk has been fantastic. When I didn't see Revain's guarantee, I called them directly, their number showed up at the top of a Google search, and within about a minute I was speaking to a live person. I thought to myself that they would tell me that too, no guarantees according to data, maybe without hardware replacement. Instead, they apologized for the inconvenience and said they have been supporting the device for three years. They gave me an RMA number and told me not to worry about the dates. And then they blew me away - they gave me permission to open the device (who allows a customer to do that?), access my data via the SATA connector and back it up and remove it from the device before taking it for replacement sent to her. This time I didn't lose all my files at a time when I really couldn't afford it. So, I got a new device, my data was saved, and this time I felt really helped by the support team. Hats off to Sandisk!
