This one from Neewer is just perfect. This model for Canon comes with two different formats.

I've had my eye on one of these timers for a long time. I wanted to photograph the night sky and some time lapse projects and you need an intervalometer to get it right. This one from Neewer is just perfect. This model for Canon comes with two different ends that can be connected to any of your Canon models. I made sure it is compatible with my new Rebel T7i. I warn you that this little gem of hardware needs to be carefully studied and understood before stepping out into the pitch black night! I would also suggest using another small flashlight or a headband flashlight that frees your hands to do the timer settings. Reading the manual is highly recommended, and a little practice connecting it to your camera will only give you the shots you expect and want. This timer's cable is long enough that you can simply plug it into the camera and press the button to activate the shutter without transmitting any vibration back to the camera. I also read another comment about why there is a sliding locking collar on the main trigger so you can open the shutter for lamp mode use. If you want to hold the shutter open for 5 seconds, lock the slider in place and count down 5 seconds, then release. You can also simply press and hold the main button and then release it for the same effect. This timer really shines when used for time-lapse photography. It can be set to repeatedly open and close the shutter within a specified time. All this is in the guide, so don't miss it. A little disappointed with the built-in light. It doesn't stay on very long and is a bit annoying when trying to enter settings. Hence the flashlight tip. It's very well made, it takes 2 AAA batteries and I've read that they'll be used for many months but I can't confirm that yet. You'd be crazy to even consider the $60+ Canon branded version! It cost $14.99 and I've been very happy with it so far. I'm a serious amateur photographer and if you fall into that category, do yourself a favor and snap a picture.
