The light was easy to assemble, you just had to screw it into the socket. Don't rely on the "socket" that comes with the light. It's a cheap piece of plastic that won't meet an electrical code in any city or state. The light is very bright and very "white", especially when compared to other incandescent bulbs which are usually a little more yellow. Many find it crass or too white. In addition, the design of the panels focuses all light downwards, leaving the ceiling area dark. That can be good or bad.
