Review on MEIJIA Waterproof Camera Case with Customizable Foam Insert, Stylish Black, 24.25 X 19.41 X 9.76 inches by Mark Morrow

My opinion on hard cases and their use to transport valuable items is based on the use of hard metal (aluminum) and molded high strength plastic cases since the 1970's. During Vietnam, as part of the 600th Combat Photo Squadron and the 601st Photo Regiment, det. 3, Ubon, Thailand, I recognized the responsibility to protect "my camera" in the most adverse conditions. But then we didn't have such portable and durable cases for field work. In today's digital world, all of my photo and video gear is made from either molded plastic or molded aluminum. I have both My opinion on the MEIJIA cases is based on using Meijia and the leader in Mil-Spec cases based in California and another strong competitor based in Texas. "Lifetime Warranty" is part of their lexicon, and technical product support is just a phone call away; government support. So you can imagine that in order for a competitive brand to capture the sales of two major companies, the newcomer's products must have some strong attributes and values. And that is the basis of my opinion. At Revain I have used and tested what is now my "Cost Guide" also available at Revain, used the Meijia Large Cargo Case and am now reviewing the Meijia Medium Utility Case. In my video I look at what I think are the most important features for this or one of the molded cases. And I also go to comparison cases and look at the features and prices. Unfortunately, as much as I wish, this particular Meijia case actually costs more than the comparable case from the second market leader. And for only $50 more than this case, I see that the same American company offers another suitcase with a wheel and a handle for only $50 more. And it's a little bit more, along with their patented pressure relief valves. It is 2 inches taller than the Meija's depth at just under 10 inches. As I stated in my review for some reason and maybe missing something I cannot recommend this case and cannot explain the odd price they chose. For me it was a 3 star product. While it has the core features for this mid-size suitcase type, it does not match the standard features of the two US market leaders in this type of product. I should also add that although the manufacturer's site mentions wheels and a handle assembly, this Meijia case doesn't come with that feature. (?)
