Really nice and high quality mattress topper. It has rubber bands attached to it to keep it in place, but they don't quite help with my memory foam mattress, but probably work with other types of mattresses. It went through my 10-inch Tempur-Pedic queen with ease, leaving room for reserve. The lid is waterproof but does not absorb water. The cover absorbs liquid, but the plastic membrane on the underside prevents it from getting onto the mattress. See my photos for more details on this. Also, according to it, it's not waterproof, which is always important. To be honest, my only complaint is that the gray stitching around the case that attaches it to the sides is very stiff. Since I sleep on my stomach and my toes are always dangling over the bottom edge, I feel this stiff seam under my feet and it's a bit uncomfortable. Update - I'm adjusting my rating by one more star. Those gray stitches really bother me when I'm trying to sleep. i feel it too much I'll buy another mattress topper and just use this as a backup. Also, the mattress cover stays off center, so the stiff gray stitching intrudes into my sleeping area on one side. Not satisfied - would be much better without that gray stitching
