These are adjustable clips that hold the background fabric similar to the clips that hold picture IDs on various uniforms, allowing you to hold the edges of your background. They are convenient because they can be thrown in a bag and do not take up much space. You can adjust the tension on each of the zip ties with the small plunger handle attached to each clamp. The edge of the backdrop can actually be about 1 inch from the vertical bar and the clip works well. The plastic rings that you attach to the posts can sometimes slip off. Overall a decent product.
