This Scepter monitor is sharp and clear and is exactly what I need as a monitor for my desktop computer. However, the speakers are cheap, tinny and hardly usable. Full 100% volume is required to hear anything from them at all, and bass tones are lacking. If you need speakers with a monitor, please buy another monitor. I have a laptop with stereo speakers so I know good sound is possible in a small package. Scepter just decided to put the cheapest speaker in this monitor. Now I need to buy speakers for my computer. One more note: the manual mentions "standalone" use to check the brightness and other functions of the monitor using the buttons on the back of the device, but they do NOT work while the monitor is on and working with the computer. Hardly "offline". In offline mode, you have no way of verifying that the monitor is working until you plug it in.
