An email came back from the seller's customer service - someone named Thomas: No, he's not sending me the promised free gift. He doesn't like what I wrote and wants me to "update" the rating. What I did was lower the rating to 1 star. Read the product description and FAQ (if any; this product didn't have any) before purchasing. So based on the description I assumed this could all be used in the microwave. The goods arrived 15 minutes ago; I unpacked and saw a one-page instruction manual that said the lids are not to be used in the microwave. The only reason I bought them was to use them in the microwave with the lid on! If I have leftovers, so they don't spoil in the fridge, I toss them in for about 1 minute, lid just loose on (unsecured to allow steam to escape). Then I let it cool down a bit and close the lid for tightness. In other words, I use food containers like they are mason jars. Works great with plastic containers so I went with these glass containers which I found to be more durable. All they had to do was indicate (in LARGE type, the size of the one they list all other properties on) that the lids are not microwavable and that I would look for another product. But now I have them and they seem to be very good. I'll try warming up the lid for 1 minute and hopefully everything will be fine.
