These leggings are not like regular girls leggings. They feel and look more like lined yoga pants. My daughter loves her but she is very small. If your child has a normal child thickness and muscle tone, maybe order a size up? My girl is 3 years old and fits 18 month pants or 2T jeans with very tight adjustable elastics. They hugged her waist and played with her length a bit. Her hips and calves also fit her well, but I'd say she's smaller than the average three-year-old.
