After trying different life jackets and floats for our one year old we found it worked. she lacked control over her body and what was available on the market sometimes allowed her to fall face down in the water, which was a very dangerous situation. Finally we tried this float and it is much more stable than other floats because the seat is much deeper. So be sure to get this float as it is much safer for younger children. It's also quite durable, we bought it last year and used it all summer/fall and took it off next summer and it still inflates well and holds air. Another float we bought at the same time is already showing signs of a leak.
