These jars may be fine for cosmetics, creams or lotions but they are not very strong and the closure is not optimal for my intended application which requires multiple use . The walls of the jar are quite thin and flexible, as is the lid. The closure threads are thin and poorly formed and tend to seize when the cap is unscrewed and therefore it is difficult to securely close the cap on the last turn to prevent leakage. This makes the vessel unsuitable for liquids or any gel-like products which may separate on standing of a liquid phase. The inner lid is really only for a cream type cosmetic product and appears to be necessary for the lid to provide a proper seal. However, this is another thing to handle and keep clean. I really don't know if they will be really useful for me. I have found much better suited square bottom jars with heavier weights and multi-layer secure lids from a local industrial container supply company at a lower price than these jars. and they will be what I will use from now on. I couldn't find anything like hard square bottom glasses at Revain and spent quite a bit of time searching. I'm disappointed.
