I bought two of these stools for a small kitchen island after weeks of searching all the major interior design websites. They check almost everything on my wish list. Strong yet light enough to be easily moved, they have metal guards on the crossbars (a feature that usually costs more), plastic bottom guards, and neatly finished antique brass nail heads for an understated elegance. The dark brown wood has a nice texture that adds textural interest, and the color contrasts beautifully with my maple cabinets. The slate fabric wasn't my first choice, but leather upgrades were significantly more expensive and I decided it wasn't worth the cost. To top it off, the stools came fully assembled in sturdy boxes with protective packaging and padding. They were unpacked and used within minutes. If you are looking for a stool of this type at a reasonable price I can't imagine you will find a better one. I give them five stars without hesitation.
