When first used and in contact with water, these pads form an orange-brown puddle under the surface which may temporarily stain the surface of the sink. It's hard to believe, and the claim that the product won't rust seems wrong - maybe they're claiming that the orange-brown puddle is pure copper, which immediately peels off the pad's surface. Fraud.
