I bought this unit to connect 2 external monitors to my home workstation laptop. I wanted 3 displays (2 monitors + 1 laptop screen) to cross each other. For starters, you can do that with this product, which is a huge plus since many devices of this type don't seem to offer "expansion options". It also has USB A and C ports for a wireless mouse, keyboard, etc. No instructions are needed as everything is pretty much self-explanatory. However, other than just existing and somewhat functioning, this device sucks. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and every day the adapter loses connection at least 1 time and all my screens go black. Then everything I have open on the three screens gets transferred to my laptop screen and the other two monitors reset their connection to the adapter. This is very annoying and there is no easy/cosmetic way to fix this as it appears to be an internal issue with one of the patch cords. Another issue is that it doesn't work well with a wireless mouse or keyboard. When I connected both a mouse and keyboard to the adapter, both devices had a very noticeable delay to the point of being unusable. I typed a sentence and only half of the letters were recognized and they appeared on the screen just 15 seconds after I pressed the keys. The mouse also lagged enough that I could try to mentally move the cursor. I will definitely be returning it and buying another adapter from a different company. I can just spend the extra money and buy a quality hub from a reputable retailer.
