Review on 🌐 GlocalMe U3 Mobile Hotspot 4G LTE Wireless Portable WiFi - No SIM Card Needed, Connect Up to 10 Devices, Create WLAN Anywhere - Smart Local Network Auto-Selection - Includes US 8GB & Global 1.1GB Data by Michael Hughes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

One SIM slot ONE, difficult to connect with AT&T

I have had this unit for about a month now. Unfortunately I haven't been able to use it while traveling, so this rating is based solely on usage in downtown San Diego (ie excellent cell phone signal). First good news: I got a "virtual modem" to work with Glocalme North. US and international calling plans. I also have relatively fast 4G service with nano SIMs from Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T. Now the bad news: 1. There is no slot for a second SIM card. The second SIM card does not fit anywhere in the device. I chatted with Glocalme support and they confirmed that there is only ONE SIM slot. I sent them a revain list that said two sim slots. and Glocalme said it was a bug (it looks like Revain removed this from their list). However, I can easily remove and replace the SIM card in the device.2. The device connected easily via a virtual SIM card, but the data transfer rate was very slow (I had to contact Glocalme support to get 8GB North American data for free and it only takes 30 days (1.1GB international Data lasts for 90 days).4 Although the device connected immediately to my Verizon 4G and T-Mobile 4G, connecting to AT&T 4G was a nightmare. Apparently AT&T doesn't have this device in their system. It took me 10 hours to connect to call him AT&T, numerous unfulfilled promises, that the device would be added to the AT&T system and finally the Advanced Support Supervisor who added my device with the IMEI number from the tablet before I got AT&T 4G service. Perhaps AT&T will add this device to its system at some point in the future. Probably no. I'm concerned about what it means if I try to use a local SIM card when visiting another country (would it be like Verizon or like AT&T?).5. I don't know how to add software to the device and I can't get very limited built-in software (currency converter and translator) to work. I don't know whether to keep the device or send it back. The "Dual SIM slots" feature was the main reason I bought it, but I can physically switch SIMs. Perhaps AT&T will add this device to its system at some point in the future. Probably no.
