This is a sturdy good quality chair. The box it was shipped in was quite dented, one of the top flaps was fully unscrewed and open. I was afraid it would be damaged or missing parts, but everything inside was well packaged and (as far as I know as there were no instructions) all the parts were on the invoice. Even without instructions, it was pretty easy to assemble. Wheels to the base.- Insert the stem into the base.- Place the seat on the stem.- Screw on the levers.- Cover the holes with plastic pieces. An Allen key was included. All in all it was assembled in less than 10 minutes. The chair has a lever to raise or lower the seat and a handle on the front to control the recline tension. Pulling the height adjustment lever up locks the seat and prevents it from tipping. The chair cannot be locked in the lying position. I'm 5ft 7" and found the chair fit well, a little big. Raised to full height, the front half of my foot is touching the ground and the heel is slightly lifted. I would rather have the chair too high than too low. The lumbar support is prominent enough, but not enough to cause back pain. I found myself becoming more aware of my posture in this chair. I appreciate it because I'm trying to get rid of the habit of bending over since the sitting posture hurts my back and shoulders. Overall it's a bit more expensive. for a chair of this style but makes up for it in quality. This is a durable chair that will last for several years.
