I love these shoes for our daughter who is learning to walk and needs to wear shoes in kindergarten. The skin is very soft and flexible, which I think is very comfortable for her as she keeps wiggling and moving from floor to standing. Also, they have rubber soles, which are great for kindergarten because they can play outside every day, and so many shoes this size have those silly cloth soles with little dots for traction. Finally they are DOWN! My little one got to grips with Velcro IMMEDIATELY and took off all Velcro shoes as soon as she got to kindergarten. The fact that these ties are very comfortable, and the ropes are long enough for a double knot. To be honest, I wish I had bought them in multiple colors to begin with. Now I will come back to buy them in white and gold to replace the other two pairs of velcro. One minor thing, the pads definitely fall apart and slide out, but I just put them back in every morning. A very, very small annoyance in a big plan.
