Poor reception Best in Portable Audio & Video

I live about 40 miles from a town that has radio stations and I have very little FM reception. The green light flickers on and off. The charging cable is only about 15 inches long. Bad instructions on how to connect the device, but then I have problems with the electronics. I suggest the best radio if you live in the country.
