Motion sensor not working

I thought this night light was DOA because it never turned on despite being placed in different places in my house. Even when I turned off all the lights in my house to see if the light sensor was working, I walked in front of it, waved my hands in front of it, and it didn't light up. I played with the dimmer and the light would not turn on. I then wanted to check if it was a PIR (motion sensor) so I changed the location in my house and moved it from the breakfast counter in the kitchen to the living room (right now is the easiest place). me) and repeated the exercise. But it FINALLY turned on, when I pressed the leg about 2 inches away from me against the motion sensor (PIR), it finally activated. My guess is that the manufacturer bought cheap IR detectors AND the focal length is too short. The depth of the night light is good, thin and close to the wall, but for the PIR to work you need to move a few inches away from the front of the case at night. When mounted directly onto a Fresnel lens, it doesn't give you a long enough focal length to prevent the motion sensor from picking you up. Don't waste your money - buy the GE 29844 motion sensor night light instead, it works like a charm and got me walking all over the house. It is also available in different colors: white, silver, bronze and nickel. I bought the silver version and hung it all over the house.
