This is such a simple product I'm shocked at how poorly made it is. The surface adjacent to the webcam is not flat on either. Two of them had the plastic lifted up during the molding process and the glue applied to it. They were unsuitable. The third had raised plastic on the inside of the ring that I was able to trim off with a knife. I installed it on the camera. Once on the camera, the lid slides open, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's difficult to close. The lid basically has to snap onto the ring, but the plastic hinge is so weak that it takes both hands to align and close the lid. Then you need to reconfigure your webcam. This product is a joke. i give it back
