I use them on an Alzheimer's patient in her daily activities; A relatively recent study I found showed that light above 9000K is beneficial for dementia patients. Higher Kelvin light, such as bright direct sunlight, appears to suppress melatonin production. This helped confuse day and night and the poor sleep that is so common with dementia. I use it during the rainy season to supplement natural sun (including the sun tunnel) and it seems to work really well. Inexpensive compared to buying these bulbs individually at pet stores and when combined with natural light, regular 6500K full spectrum bulbs, melatonin supplementation at night, we experience no more day/night confusion and no more whole house sleep!
