I make my living as a strength athlete so I'm often on my feet and on my knees. Socks are socks for the most part but I bought 4 pairs of these over a year ago and 4 more recently. They hold up to the abuse I've put them through and the 4 pairs still look brand new. The padding is still there. Therefore they are not made of cotton. Cotton sucks. Polyester and wool naturally absorb moisture. I like them even on hot summer days. Yes, your feet might be a little warmer, but they're drier, have more grip, and feel a lot more comfortable at the end of the day.
