Fits my 2 year old in the tightest of spaces. It does the job. In fact the latch should be on the back as I need to make a cover so my child doesn't run away which I clearly knew when I bought it so that doesn't affect my rating. For now it works and the wings are cute. It is exactly as pictured, the buckles and hardware seem to hold up and work well. I'm hesitating between 3 and 4 stars. By liking and enjoying this product I mean it works. I won't be heartbroken if I have to replace it and take something else. I'm a solid, average 3 on this aspect. However, the product itself is a 4 and I rated it as such. The product is exactly what you imagined. It's well built. No strange smell. It works. However it is not very suitable for small toddlers so if you have a 12 month old I would buy something else. My baby is quite fat and at 18 months could just about fit into a 2T jacket.
