When I got my iPad 3rd gen it was brand new and didn't have any cases. I settled on one that worked, but whenever I wanted to charge my Apple Pencil I had to remove the lid completely, which really meant I usually just left the Apple Pencil uncharged and frustrated when I needed it. The iPad Pro Gen 3 12.9 has been around long enough that someone must have fixed this issue, and oh my god, they ever did. The case feels GREAT in the hand and has a rotating back so you can hold it in landscape or portrait orientation. The hardware consists of a (fake, I guess) leather strap and durable plastic and rubber casing that looks really nice, and of course a slot for your Apple Pencil so it charges and stays charged when you need it! I use my iPad to store all my music when performing my chorus and it looks as good or better than my official chorus folder. I'm really happy with this purchase.
