I work at an animal shelter and take care of several cats at the same time. I was hoping I wouldn't have to drill holes in the window sills since many of the best windows border sidewalks. In addition, with these sliding windows, the cat shelf interferes with opening the windows. You can work well with bi-fold windows. I have a "cat room" that has a nice long shelf under the windows, but doesn't get much sun. All my south facing windows are sliding. I decided to install the shelf on one of these three windowsills. It will be crowded with nine cats trying to catch some sun there.
