I want to be completely honest - at first I hated this pillow and was mad at myself for paying so much money for it. I had read other reviews so I knew there would be a smell when I first unwrapped it and it definitely was. The instructions said to leave it on for a couple of hours to allow the memory foam to re-expand so I left it on for 2 days. He was so flat and smelled so bad. After a few more days, I decided I needed to see if it worked, so I put on a pillowcase and gave it a try. I had a headache all night and not sure if it was the smell or how unsupportive it was. I put it aside and went back to my old pillow. About a week later I was distraught because my old pillow got wet and I reluctantly put it back on the bed. Wow! What a difference in one week. Now it was just the right height and supported my neck perfectly. Not too soft and not too hard. Slept like a baby! Now I'm in love with this pillow - it's so comfortable! I'm glad I gave it another try. My advice is to unwrap it and leave it open for at least a week. It takes a long time to fluff up and survive the factory smell. But the wait is definitely worth it!
