Except for the back panel, the case is made of laminated synthetic wood. Details are marked but not as clear. The pre-drilled holes are too small for the supplied screws, so the "wood" swells up during assembly. By this I mean that if you look at the top of the cabinet, for example, you will see ripples where the screws were inserted to attach the sides to the top and bottom. The butt is skinny. It is nailed with the included small nails. The thinness of the top, bottom and sides requires great care when nailing the back. If you don't stand still with your nails, the inside or outside of the "wood" will splinter. Overall the cabinet is flimsy compared to the picture, overpriced and disappointing in real life. It wasn't worth keeping so we gave it away and bought a very well made, bigger and stronger cabinet from IKEA that was nothing more than this piece of junk.
