These really work. Other brands didn't work or stopped working after a few hours. The colors are pure and look very cool. The sticky backing keeps them in place! They are not waterproof. The remote is an IR remote (not RF) so you must have a direct line of sight to the receiver to control the lights. This is a bonus as the RF remote interferes with our Aiboo cabinet washing machine, lighting up at the top and making it flicker. The good thing about the app is that it's free and can adjust the light to thousands of color temperatures. The 'White' setting on the remote is similar to the white 6500k with an almost bluish tint. If you want a cozy warm yellow with 2700-3000K white, you can only get it through the app on your phone. I have tried 3 different brands of these lamps and these are the only ones that really work. I'm very glad I found her! I am always suspected by reviews as I buy 5 star items and they are terrible. I wasn't paid, given free stuff, or asked to write this review. Actually these are good lamps that I want people to know about.
