Objects penetrate the material, but when hidden, the backpack is empty

My 13 year old needs a transparent or mesh backpack, so I chose this one because it's a well-known one Brand is and hopes for longevity. He's happy with the look but needs to be reminded that the material is mesh and loose pencils and pens can and will puncture and damage the material, car seats and sofas. Just a reminder when you buy one. Aside from the need for a pencil case, this seems like a good backpack.
