I wasn't sure my almost 9 month old daughter would be interested in this toy but thought I'd give it a try anyway. I later found that the packaging says 12m+, but I'm keeping an eye on it and didn't see any choking hazard. I will always advise against following the manufacturer's recommendations. She loves it! I love that it comes in a variety of colors and especially shapes as several other brands have the same shape. It's good to add little cups to play with because I'm trying to teach her how to stack. She quickly realizes that she has to turn the box over so her hand can reach into the dividers and grab the pieces. This is a beautifully made product. I really have no complaints other than the fact that the description says you'll get 8 stackable mugs and I'll get 4, so check yours once it arrives.
