These are good comfortable shoes. They also make you feel comfortable and good inside, knowing you are paying for another pair of shoes for a starving child in Africa. But you also have to think of Africa. What if there is a small shoemaker in the village where they distribute these shoes? Do we fire him from his job because now all the kids have shoes? Perhaps we should step back and look at the bigger picture. What problem are we trying to solve? Are we trying to give them shoes or prevent diseases from coming from the earth? Maybe the problem will be solved in another way? And what if, instead of paying crazy money for shoes, we found shoes at a thrift store and sent our old ones to Africa. That way we don't have to spend the $50 we could have spent on shoes, but on shipping to Africa. It's just my mustard, but take what you want. In the end these shoes are good but a bit expensive to make me feel good.
