Review on ASHATA Converter Wireless Transmitter Receiver by Bill Russett

Works but has difficulty

First the bad: useless manual, poor description of what it does, hard to get it working. So if you can't figure it out, you'll have to give it up and throw it away. Good: if you can get it to work, given its limitations, it actually works. So what is it? Almost none of the following information in the description or manual: It accepts USB, line-out or optical SPDIF and transmits it digitally via a frequency hopping transmitter to a receiver with a headphone jack and volume control. Its main purpose is to transmit TV or stereo signals to headphones with low latency, much lower latency and higher quality. as Bluetooth. The receiver has a small battery, so after charging it can be used without being connected to the mains. I bought this to wirelessly transmit from an optical SPDIF connection to my powered subwoofer to eliminate cables and hum. Low latency is important. The SPDIF connection is also important because I didn't want to use a DAC to receive an analog signal, then an ADC to receive a digital signal for transmission, and then a DAC on the receiver side. I wanted to transmit digitally and only use a DAC. For this to work, you must first pair the transmitter with the receiver. You turn on the transmitter and the LED should be solid. For some reason it is sensitive to the 5V USB cable used. Use the one that came with the kit. Then turn on the receiver. The red light on the receiver will be on while charging. Charge it, unplug the charging cable and the LED should glow blue. Press and hold the transmitter for 2 seconds to put it into pairing mode. Helps play something on the input and wear headphones on the receiver. Pairing may take several times. Once paired, it stays paired even if the device is turned off.
