Review on ✂️ OLFA Smooth Edge Precision Scissors (Model 80407) by Jessica Lewis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The blades are thick, the finger hole is normal.

I make parts out of paper. I have used Martha Stewart shears for many years and was VERY disappointed when they were discontinued. I've been looking for a long time to find a comparable pair. My three most important areas are blade width, blade length, finger opening. I use EK Success scissors (grey handle only). They're okay, but seem to lose their sharpness pretty quickly. I read the reviews about OLFA and decided to try them. First, when working with details, the size and length of the blade are important. I would like the photos of the scissors to include side views of the blades. These blades are thick compared to EK Success, Martha Stewart and the Canary brand (bought recently, see separate review). Detail scissors, I think, means I need to be able to fit the blades into small and narrow holes (like cutting out the center of a small circle). These scissors can't do that. Yes, I use an Exacto knife, but I can't always carry an Exacto or cutting stand. The length is good as they are not designed for long sections of cutting. They are designed for short cuts. The balance is good and the finger holes are a good size for fine detailing scissors. I'll use them for the outer cut areas, but they're not good for cutting fine detail. My search continues.

Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
