I'll admit I was a little skeptical about the "ready" claim, but I have to admit that they're ready to go right out of the box. My only disappointments are the battery life and "edges". I'm a hairstylist and after my 4th cut on a busy Saturday they died in the middle of the makeup. It takes 45 minutes to an hour to fully charge this hair clipper. not a bad clipper, I want the ends to meet like the middle of a blade. You can get it to work if you try to insert the letter "C", but it can be a little annoying. These are light and small but powerful hair clippers. I would definitely consider buying a second one to keep in my arsenal.
